Here is a fantastic large handbell hanging on the elephant’s neck of Karen hill tribe, it was formerly used on a huge bull elephant by Karen hill tribe mahouts. Bull elephants of the size required to use this bell to follow up their pet when it out route and for Demonstrate ownership. Nowaday is rarely seen and No Rebuilt. Almost all the elephants in Northern Thailand have been moved to elephant conservation centers or tourist attraction.
Formerly, this bell had been used by Karen and other hill tribes for tasks such as clearing land, etc. It cannot a reproduction, the materials skin of this handbell will reflects the old age more than 100 years, real piece Karen elephant bell that was used by real elephant. Later it was used by Karen to hang on front of their house. And nowaday some of them were kept by museum for new generations to learn history. Ancients believed it was used by an elephant in one’s home will ensure good luck and prosperity for their family living. This bell is include with teak wood stand same as displayed.
